TOMBALL, TX :: Rookie driver Zak Hausler  is looking to build on early season success in the PASS Super Late Model Series.  Hausler is the 2011 NASCAR Whelen All American Series Texas State Champion racing for a Super Late Model team owned by the reigning NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Champion.

“Brad Keselowski Racing has really good equipment and I really think we’ll win a race before the year is over,” Hausler expressed confidently.  “I’m glad we got this ride with BKR.  It’s a whole new thing, this Super Late Model world.  PASS is extremely competitive as well as the other series we’ll run such as the Southern Super Series.  We’re looking forward to getting good finishes and hopefully a win real soon.”

Hausler plans on taking his Super Late Model outside of the PASS Series.  He hopes to compete in some of the bigger races such as the TD Bank 250 and, of course, Super Late Model racing’s Super Bowl in Pensacola, the Snowball Derby.

“We have the Oxford 250 and the Snowball Derby on the scheduled as well as the World Crown and Winchester 400,” Hausler said.  “We have a lot of big races on the schedule.  I hope we can get dialed up for those races so we have the best shot.”

Hausler hopes to win races and expects to finish in the top-five.

“I’m looking forward to running top five finishes from here on out and getting some wins and producing some good finishes.”

He also expressed excitement about racing with some of the best drivers in the business and feels it helps him achieve racing success as he looks to bigger things for the future.

“It’s a huge honor racing people like Kyle Busch, Johnny Sauter and the people who have made it to Trucks, Nationwide and Cup and racing with us,” Hausler stated.  “It’s a huge push for us to make us twice as good once we figure out what we need.  They help us a whole lot coming down.”’

Hausler reflected on what got him interested racing.

“My dad, Terry Hausler, drag raced and ran go-karts,” Hausler commented. “When I was five, he put me in a go-kart.  From there, we’ve gone up to Legends Modifieds, Pro Late Models, Super Late Models and we’re hoping to run some K&N.  We have Pensacola on our schedule and we’re testing at Motor Mile after the Hickory race.  At my age, hopefully I can get in Trucks or ARCA and anything I can do to be in a touring series.”

While there are a number of big races Hausler will compete in, he says he approaches every race with the same mentality.

“I take every race like it’s a big race and I want to win every one,” Hausler explained.  “PASS South goes to all these historic tracks.  I’m looking forward to them.  I’ve never been on them so I want to race at them and get BKR top finishes like they expect.”

Hausler is entered to compete in Saturday’s Easter Bunny 150 at Hickory Motor Speedway.  He is sponsored by F.A.S.T.  He will compete in six NASCAR K&N Pro Series races and has recorded one top-ten finish in the PASS South Super Late Model Series in 2013.
