HIGH POINT, NC :: Hedgecock Racing Enterprises is getting ready for the seventh annual Denny Hamlin Short Track Showdown on April 24, 2014. We are excited to announce driver Brad Eddy from Lower Sackville, Nova Scotia Canada will be at the helm of the Hedgecock House Car.
Brad Eddy will become the first Maritime Canadian to ever compete in the prestigious event. Eddy’s 2011 NASCAR track championship is among the accomplishments that earned him the opportunity to compete in the invitation-only event where he can test his talent against some of the best short track racers in the U.S. as well as top NASCAR drivers including Hamlin, Kyle Busch, Matt Kenseth, David Ragan, Elliott Sadler, Timothy Peters, Jeb Burton, Drew Herring and Hermie Sadler.
Previous Danny Hamlin Short Track Showdown top five finishers includes 2012 outside pole sitter, Brandon Butler finishing 3rd Place along with Jeff Burton finishing 4th Place in a Hedgecock Racing Chassis. David Ragan finished 2nd Place in 2013 in a Hedgecock Racing Chassis.
Eddy will be piloting his familiar number 72 with support from Denver Foran Racing, Quinn’s Flooring, Danas Collision Center and King Freight Lines.
Brad Eddy has made several round trip drive from Nova Scotia Canada to Charlotte sleeping many nights in his 2003 VW Jetta with a sleeping bag just so he could pursue his NASCAR dream. He is what grass roots racing is all about and what NASCAR’s foundation was built on.
To be the lone Canadian invited to this event is a huge accomplishment. Hedgecock Racing is proud to be a part of his racing career. Hope to see you at South Boston Speedway to support Denny Hamlin Foundation, which supports and funds Cystic Fibrosis research.
