COEBURN, VA :: Kres Vandyke’s season so far can be described in one word: dominance. Vandyke has won the first two races at Kingsport (TN) Speedway this season. Vandyke then made the trip to Lonesome Pine Raceway where he won on Saturday.

Vandyke jumped to an early lead on the first of 60 laps.

The caution would wave on lap eight for a spin in turn four. On the restart, Vandyke would rocket back to the lead.

The race would continue under green until lap 51 when the caution would wave again for a spin in turn two. With the caution waving, the field was set for a nine lap shootout to the finish.

Vandyke chose the outside lane for the restart, placing the No. 22 of Stiltner on the inside. Stiltner and Vandyke would race door-to-door with the white flag waving. Down into turns three and four, Stiltner would try one last time, but Vandyke would cross the finish line by only a few inches over Stiltner.

The next race at Lonesome Pine Raceway will be on Saturday, May 3rd.
