One week after being caught in a net of disqualifications, Trey Gibson roared back with a vengeance and raced his way to victory lane at Greenville-Pickens Speedway in Easley, South Carolina. Not only did he score the win, he got to keep the win.
“I’m really excited for the win after the start of 2015 season last week and all that went down,” Gibson said. “I feel like this is what me and my team needed to overcome last week’s disqualification.”
The victory was Trey Gibson’s first win since September 14, 2013 when he scored his fourth win of that season in the final race of the season at Greenville-Pickens Speedway.
“Since I haven’t won since the end of 2013, 2014 was just a year with no luck,” Gibson remarked. “So with this win being in the books for 2015, it just means maybe the monkey is off my back. It gives me more drive and makes me want to win every time I’m at the track.”
Gibson is confident the win on Saturday night will be the first of many wins to come this season.
“Our cars and team are more prepared and focused for this year than we have been the past years, so to be at to go to the track and be fast and consistent. I think that’s what will put us in victory lane.”
