Greenville, SC(April 16, 2012) — So far, it’s just impossible for anyone to outrun Toby Porter in the Late-Model Stock division at Greenville-Pickens Speedway.

As the historic half-mile held a regular program on a special night, former champion Marty Ward was the top qualifier and led the first two laps, until a four-car crash stopped the race for almost a half-hour.

And Tasha Porter Kummer, who started 10th in her car, “Blaze” ended up with her car sitting on it’s side when the crash unfolded. But Kummer looked over her car and saw there was a chance, just a chance, she could change some tires and make som adjustments and get back in the race.

It took two full runing trips from the wreck to her pits and back for Kummer to get the word to her pit crew, and the race was restarted while they were still making repairs.

Porter got by Ward on the restart, but for the next 39 laps had his hands full with the former champion. “Marty is a lot faster than he was,” Porter said. “He’s been working on his car, getting quicker, and it looks like we are going to have to go to work ourselves to keep winning,” Porter said in Victory Lane.

His fourth straight win gives him the ultimate 200 points.

Although Kummer managed to get her car back in the race, it was damaged too bad to be competitive and she finished 13th in the 19-car field.

Ralph Carnes finished third, with Anthony Anders fourth and Kate Monteith was fifth.

The Burns brothers, Jeremy and Will, finished sixth and seventh, as David Levine, Greg Welborn and Taylor Stricklin rounded out the top ten.

Chris Chastain had little trouble in the Trucks race, jumping out front at the start and staying right there without a lot of pressure.

Chastain, the points leader, finished ahead of Randy Ballew, Ryan Walker, Tim Lollis, Gene Burrnett and michael Altop.

Mike Mote was in his own zip code in the Charger main, as Tim Crowe and Chuckie Greer were second and third. Andy Norris was fourth, and James Johnson was fifth.

Jeremy Drumond took the win in the Renegade main event, and announced he had the car back to where it was a few weeks ago and he now has something for the competition. Travis Cox took second, and Kyle Ballew was third. Andrew Cordell took fourth and Daniel Jameson was fifth.

David Rader took the Street Stock victory, crossing a half-carlength over Mark Gibson. Dylan Crowe was third, with Tyler Gibson and Freddy Hale, Jr. completing the field.

Rader also took the win in the four cylinder class, with James Madden, Robert Floyd and Sarah Madden rounding out the field.
