NEWTON, NC :: Pro All Stars Series (PASS) President Tom Mayberry is pleased to announce that a deal has been finalized to include the Must See Racing Sprint Cars at this year’s Easter Bunny 150 weekend at Hickory Motor Speedway. Additionally, the 10th Annual Easter Bunny 150 weekend will expand to a two day show for the first time in the prestigious event’s history. The Easter Bunny 150 will be the second PASS National Championship Series race of 2015 and will feature the best Super Late Model racers from the North and South. For the Must See Racing Sprints, the event is shaping up to be a ‘Southern Showdown’ as the Tampa Bay Area Racing Association (TBARA) teams are invited to participate. The TBARA has been in a dormant state since club members decided to temporarily put the series in hiatus several weeks ago. A vote by the club in the coming weeks will determine if the TBARA will accept the invitation.
“The Easter Bunny 150 has always been exciting because it brings the best Super Late Model racers from the North and South together in one of the biggest short track races of the Spring,” said PASS President Tom Mayberry. “The addition of the Must See Racing Sprint Cars only adds to this great event. It will give our fans the chance to not only see Winged Sprint Cars race on asphalt, but it will also give them a glimpse of some of the fastest cars to race on short tracks period. These guys have been setting track records everywhere they go and I wouldn’t be surprised at all to see them do the same at Hickory.”
This will mark the first ever visit to Hickory Motor Speedway for the Must See Racing Sprint Cars. Hickory and the Easter Bunny 150 weekend will open the 2015 campaign for the Midwest’s best asphalt Winged Sprint Car drivers as they get set to compete against some of the South’s best “Winged Warriors.” The ‘Southern Showdown’ will pit the top Southern and Northern winged pavement sprint cars head-to-head. This event could prove to be one of the biggest pavement sprint cars events ever held in the South in recent seasons. In addition, the event is expected to draw the top pavement sprint cars drivers from across the nation.
“We have been very fortunate to open the season in the Deep South over the last several years, however, because of the current state of pavement sprint car racing in Florida and the opportunity to race in a different part of the country, we decided to take advantage of the offer to compete at the first class Hickory Motor Speedway in a great event with PASS,” said Must See Racing’s Jim Hanks. “A two night event will attract race teams and give the fans plenty of wheel to wheel racing action. The event is closer to our home base, introduces the unparalleled speed of winged pavement sprint cars to new fans, plus, the track length and configuration at Hickory is perfect to have the Northern MSR 410’s and the Southern 360’s compete evenly and fairly without compromising the rule books or very importantly, the engines. We are really looking forward to starting the season at this new and exciting area, track and event.”
For the first time ever, the Easter Bunny 150 weekend will expand to two days, beginning on Fridayafternoon, April 3 with practice for the PASS Super Late Models, Must See Xtreme Sprint Cars and support divisions and will be followed by twin 25 lap qualifying races for the Must See Xtreme Sprint Cars and features for the PASS Pro Late Models and Legends cars. Then, on Saturday, April 4, the PASS Super Late Models will compete in the 10th Annual Easter Bunny 150 along with the 40 lap “Southern Showdown” for the Must See Racing Xtreme Sprint Cars and features for the USAC HPD Eastern Midgets and Legends.
