Ryan Repko showed the way in Friday afternoon’s CARS Response Energy Tour practice session at Tri-County Motor Speedway.
Repko, who was fast in testing last week, clocked in with a 16.179 second lap in practice on his 32nd lap on track. The 18-year-old from Denver, North Carolina was plenty confident heading into this weekend’s race after his strong test as he chases his first career CARS Tour victory.
Veteran racer Dexter Canipe, Jr. was second fastest with a 16.215 second lap while Trevor Ward, Cody Haskins and defending champion Josh Berry rounded out the top-five in the speed charts.
Hannah Bell topped the charts in Limited Late Model practice with a 16.331 second lap.
The only casualty of the day was Nik Williams, who broke a suspension part and crashed in turn three. That incident ended Williams’ weekend.
The drivers competing Saturday’s Do The Dew 150, the season opening race for the CARS Response Energy Late Model Stock Tour, will get one more practice session on Saturday afternoon before qualifying. The green flag will drop on Saturday’s race at 3:15pm.
