Myrtle Beach Speedweeks will kick off this weekend with the University of Northwestern Ohio (UNOH) 400 headlined by the always entertaining Southeast Limited Late Model (SELLM) racing tour.

Friday evening will see the always exciting and SELLM Challenger feature race, a 50 lap shootout which is synonymous with first-time winners.  Last year, Trent Barnes scored the victory in a thrilling SELLM Challenger race.  Two years ago, Haley Moody scored a sentimental victory just days before her father, Jerry, passed away.

The Southeast Super Truck Series often produces photofinishes and non-stop side-by-side action which will be the order of the day again on Saturday when they race for 100 laps.  That race will precede the headline event, the SELLM Pro 100 lap race.  Last year, Dylan Hall scored the victory in race which was essentially shortened to 75 laps after the first 25 laps were run under caution for rain.

Hopefully, there will be no rain this year.  Rain forced all kinds of wacky occurrences at Myrtle Beach Speedweeks one year ago.  This weekend, the forecast calls for sunny skies and temperatures in the mid-60s.

The SELLM Pro race is the largest Limited Late Model race in the Carolinas.  Over 36 cars took part in an optional practice session on Thursday afternoon and many more will race on Saturday.

Among the over 36 drivers set to do battle are Justin Sorrow, Mack Little, Ryan Millington, Amber Balcaen, Brandon Cox, Monty Cox, Chris Chapman, Jerry Miracle, Ryan Glenski, Jamie Weatherford, Kate Dallenbach, Brandon Gross, Haley Moody, Kyle Plott and Brandon Grosso.

RACE22.com will have live coverage on Friday and Saturday from the opening week of Myrtle Beach Speedweeks 2015 with Five Star Bodies Raceday Live presented by CM Driver Development.  Other sponsors for RACE22.com’s Myrtle Beach Speedweeks coverage are Robert Elliott Trucking, Red Baron Race Parts, Pig Wire Wiring Harness and John West Racing Engines.
