After three successful events, Ace Speedway & Short Track Management are proud to announce the Fourth Annual Mischa Sell Memorial will return to Ace Speedway, located in Alamance County, North Carolina, on Sunday, October 25th 2015.

The event has been such a success, that it has quickly set its place as one of the premier Limited Late Model races in the southeastern US and the new management team is excited that one of their cornerstone events in the past will be back for the foreseeable future.

The race honors the wife of long time Limited Late Model competitor David Sell, who completed a six year battle with breast cancer on January 21, 2012.  The 2015 event will see a few tweaks and improvements.  The usual 74-lap Limited Late Model feature will be expanded to 100 green flag laps.  The field will be set through qualifying, heats and a last chance qualifier.

Anew engine rule will also be in effect as Chevy ZZ4 Crate Motors (P/N #24502609-ZZ4 or P/N#88958603) will be the only motor allowed in the event.  Event promoter David Sell and Ace Speedway General Manager Randy Myers feel that this will alleviate the potential problems that are created when multiple types of motors are used.

“We continue to build upon our success and hope to continue this tradition for many many years,” event founder and promoter David Sell said.  “I hope that people can find some hope in the fact that they won’t be forgotten and that’s why I started this race, so my wife’s name and legacy can live on.”

Those competing in and attending these exciting races will also have an opportunity to give back to an organization that is near and dear to the family of Mischa Sell.

“The Jack & Jill Late Stage Cancer Foundation gave my family a chance to enjoy a new experience that allowed us to have time out from the focus of my wife’s disease,” said Sell. “Now our family has an opportunity to give back.”

The Jack & Jill Late Stage Cancer Foundation (JAJF) has become exceptionally important because of the lives they are impacting across the United States. For Oncologists to ‘prescribe’ JAJF as part of the treatment protocol is extraordinary. A WOW is what JAJF does when MOM is turned upside down (and the entire family) because of late stage cancer.

“To have JAJF praised nationally for the measurable and meaningful impact we are having on children who are facing the imminent loss of their Mom or Dad is humbling” said JAJF founder Jon Albert.

Limited Late Model race participants will compete for a $1500 payout to the race winner, while starting the feature will net $200.  2014 Winner Austin Thaxton swept the pole award, halfway leader, race winner bonus and all lap leader money to net him a cool $5,625 – not only the largest Limited payout in 2014, but possibly the largest ever.

Gates will open at 12 noon on Sunday, October 25th, with racing starting at 3:00 p.m.  Open practice will be held from 10:00 a.m. until dark on Saturday, October 24th.

• Race Format Change: Qualifying will take top 10 on speed.  2 Heat races will take top 5 finishers from each.  LCQ will take top 4 finishers.  3 former winner Provisionals and 1 promoter provisional will be available.  28 starters maximum
• New Engine Rule for 2015 will be the Chevy ZZ4 Crate Motor Only – P/N #24502609-ZZ4 or P/N#88958603
