ALTAMAHAW, NC :: Following on the immense success of 2012′s inaugural event, Ace Speedway is proud to announce the 2nd Annual Mischa Sell Memorial 174, to be held on one of North Carolina’s premier asphalt short tracks, – Ace Speedway, located in Alamance County, NC, Saturday, October 26th 2013.
The event was such a success, it has quickly set it’s place as one of the premier Limited Late Model races in the southeastern US. The race will honor the wife of long time Limited Late Model competitor David Sell, who completed a six year battle with breast cancer in January of 2012. This event will feature 74 lap Limited Late Model, 50 lap Late Model Super Truck Race, a 30 Lap Street Stock race for the Bowman Gray type Street Stocks, and 20 lap Bandolero race for competitors 10 years old and younger.
Not only is Ace Speedway giving a portion of the funds made at this event to the Jack & Jill Late Stage Cancer Foundation, but the Jack & Jill families in attendance will also receive the VIP treatment with free race tickets, VIP suite seating and an opportunity to award the race winning drivers. “We are very excited to be hosting this event again,” said Brad Allen, Ace Speedway General Manager. “Last year’s event was a huge success and this year will be even bigger.”
Limited Late Model race participants will compete for a $1500 payout to the race winner, while starting the feature will net $200. 2012 Winner Scott Hall walked away with $2700 including bonuses. The Super Truck winner will win $1000 with the Street Stock winner taking home $300. These competitors will also have an option to donate a portion of their race winnings to the Jack & Jill Late Stage Cancer Foundation. Pits will open for pre-race practice at 4pm on Friday, October 25. Open practice will also be held from 10am until 12:30pm on Saturday, October 26th, with pit gates opening at 8am. Pre-race activities begin at 2:15pm with racing beginning at 3pm.
