GREENVILLE, SC :: Tim Lollis anticipates being a championship contender in the SouthEast Super Truck Series in 2014 after finishing second on two occasions and finishing third in series points in 2013.

In nine starts, out of 10 races, Lollis finished no worse than sixth and was a frequent contender for race wins in the SouthEast Super Truck Series but has been unable to score his first career win in the series.  He hopes to change that at Greenville Pickens Speedway on Saturday night.

“This year, I think we’ll be better,” Lollis said of his expectations.  “Last year was the first time we’d ever been at many of those tracks.  We should be better when we go back.  We’ve made changes to the trucks.  I’m hoping to get some wins this year.  We competed for wins last year.  We were in position four times or so but luck didn’t go our way.  We’re definitely going to try to battle for a win, that’s for sure.”

When asked what race he is looking forward to the most, Lollis responded, “any of them”.

“Greenville Pickens, on Saturday night, is going to be a good track for us,” Lollis stated.  “Anderson’s good for us.  Lonesome Pine is also good for us as is Tri-County.  We’ve had success everywhere we’ve been.”

Lollis’ racing background would explain why he looks forward to Greenville Pickens Speedway on Saturday night.  Lollis raced for years in the Super Stock division and in Late Model Stock Cars at both Greenville Pickens and Anderson Motor Speedway in South Carolina and he could race at both tracks in the Late Model ranks again this season.

“We’ve got a Late Model in our shop that another guy has been running,” Lollis explained.  “The owner’s mentioned putting me in it two or three times.  I’m focusing on the SouthEast Super Truck Series and running for a championship.  We didn’t even start the first race and ended up third last so I feel like we can win the championship this year.  I’d like to win some races and go for the championship anyways.”

Lollis will compete on Saturday night when the SouthEast Super Truck Series opens its season at Greenville-Pickens Speedway alongside the Pro All Stars Series.  Lollis is supported by Brian Ramey & Associates, who has sponsored him for several years, Osteen Collision and Repair, Macintosh Roofing and Anders Inc. (Anthony Anders).  He races for Bob Root who, along with owning the truck, also owns Root’s Tire and Auto Service.
