Winston Cup winner, Jeremy Mayfield, is bringing his Southern Modified Race Tour, KOMA Unwind Modified Madness Series car to the “spanking new” Carteret County Speedway on July 22 for the Open House introducing the new facility to area race fans.
Since returning to racing in 2013, Mayfield has been a regular competitor on the KOMA Unwind series since the inception of the series in 2014. He has some top five finishes in the series and just this past Friday, July 17th, Mayfield led 33 laps at Anderson, SC, second only to race winner Burt Myers, in the “WreathsAcrossAmerica.org 125” before electrical problems sidelined his efforts.
Mayfield will have his 600 horsepower, open wheel modified on display Wednesday evening. Mayfield along with racing legend and NASCAR Hall of Famer, Junior Johnson and other celebrities will be signing autographs from 7 – 9 PM and Mayfield and others will turn some laps after the open house and autograph session.
Don’t miss this chance to see Mayfield and his SMRT Modified at the beautiful Carteret County Speedway. Gates open at 6:00 PM and the ceremonies and autograph session runs from 7:00 till 9:00 PM with “hot laps” to follow.
