CALLAWAY, VA :: The Inaugural 4-Crown Challenge is coming to Franklin County Speedway on July 4th and July 6th for the Late Models.
The 4-Crown Challenge will feature twin 35 lap features on both nights for the Late Model Stock Cars. Each race pays $400 to win with bonuses for additional wins in the 4-Crown Challenge. Winning two races includes an additional $200, winning three races results in an additional $300 and a $400 bonus to sweep all four races. A separate points championship will be kept for these four races and a champion will be crowned following the final race of the night to be the 4-Crown Champion.
“We wanted to do something big for Independence Day weekend,” said track promoter Langley Austin. “The Late Model guys will take center stage not once, not twice, not three times but four times during the course of the two nights of racing. That’s four chances to get a win and with our tire program, it’ll only cost them $300 to win as much as $2,000 if they win all four races.”
Drivers from all around the region are expected to show up and could challenge early season race winners Steve Dalton and Kyle Dudley during the four feature races.
“We’ve had a lot of guys from around the region that have expressed interest in coming and running with us. This deal right here opens the door for them to not only run with us but have a chance in just two nights of racing to be crowned a champion and win as many as four races. We want to put the fun back in racing and hopefully with all the promotions we’re doing with our guys they’re going to have more fun with us than they can anywhere else.”
The action of the 4-Crown Challenge begins on the Fourth of July with the first two races. Along with the 4-Crown, Franklin County Speedway will host a $500 to win Any Car race on Saturday, July 6th and $250 to win U-CAR races on both nights and an additional $100 if someone can win both nights with the Valley’s Tire and Lube Challenge. Mini Stocks, Street Stocks, TunerZ, Mini Cups and Rookies will compete in special races on both nights as well.
Along with the races, the track will have a huge fireworks display following the action on both nights. They will also have numerous special discounts that weekend, including a $25 Carload special on Saturday, July 6th and discounts on popular concession items.
The action begins on Thursday, July 4th. Pit gates open at 1:30pm both nights and the grandstands open at 3pm with practice at 4pm and qualifying for all divisions at 5:30pm. Racing begins at 7pm both nights. Come on out and bring your friends and family and spend Independence Day Weekend at the new Franklin County Speedway!
