DENVER, NC :: Sharp-Gallaher Racing announced today that young, driving sensation Daniel Hemric will make his NASCAR debut behind the wheel of the No. 6 Jack Link’s/Valvoline Chevrolet Silverado when the Camping World Truck Series travels to Martinsville Speedway next weekend.
“This kid has been on everyone’s radar,” said team co-owner Eddie Sharp Jr. “I’m thrilled that we were able to pull together to give Daniel (Hemric) the opportunity to make his Truck Series debut with SGR. He is incredibly talented and has a very bright future in the sport.”
The 22-year-old Hemric has become a household name among the Legends Car, Modified and Late Model ranks, earning countless accolades over the years. He made himself a home at Concord (N.C) Speedway, first in go-karts and then when he graduated to Legends Cars at the age of 16. Hemric won back-to-back Legends Pro Championships in 2008 and 2009. He also claimed the 2009 Summer Shootout Championship at Charlotte Motor Speedway (Concord, N.C.) with six visits to Victory Lane during the 10-race series.
In 2010, the Kannapolis, N.C., native won the nationally televised Legends Million event held at Charlotte Motor Speedway. He then moved up to race Modifieds and Late Models. Hemric won his first Super Late Model event in 2011, and in 2012 was crowned the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Champion. So far 2013 has brought him additional track and series championship titles (Super Late Model), the Summer Shootout Championship and Legends Car Pro National Race Champion title.
“This is a dream come true,” said Hemric. “I am so thankful to Eddie Sharp and Bill Gallaher for the opportunity, and to Austin Dillon for putting me together with them. It is going to be great to make my NASCAR Camping World Truck Series debut with a great team at SGR. Everyone has really pulled together and put in a lot of last-minute effort to make this a reality, and I cannot thank them enough. Also a huge thank you to Jack Link’s, Valvoline, Hope for Warriors and Stitch98 for their support!”
