CHARLOTTE, NC :: McCallister Precision Marketing (MPM) and Nesbitt Racing Enterprise announce another top 10 finish and Rookie of the Race for 14 year old Cole Glasson in the last point’s race of the Southeast Super Truck Series at Anderson Motor Speedway.
Cole ran inside the top ten in the practice sessions but was able to post his best qualifying performance of the year with a P4. Cole would enter the race having to make up 7 spots in the Rookie of the Year Chase and still vying for a top 2 in the Championship chase. In the race Cole would stay within the top 5 the entire race and have several side by side battles including a battle for the lead midway through the race with ARCA veteran / Roush Fenway Development Driver, Kyle Benjamin.
With a late caution, Cole would find himself restarting outside row three for the final 14 laps of the race. He battled hard but found himself in some wheel to wheel contact and getting shuffled back to 6th spot where he would eventually finish. He would finish the point’s chase in 5th spot only 4 points separating 2nd– 5th. The finish would be Cole’s 11th top 10 of the season and his 6th Rookie of the Race finish. Cole and the team will now prepare for the biggest race of the year at Myrtle Beach to close out the year.
Truck owner and crew chief, Mart Nesbitt stated, “We feel we had the best truck on the racetrack midway through the race and while we didn’t have the finish we wanted, we were in the position we wanted to be at end of the year, competing for wins and Rookie of the Year honors.”
Glasson stated, “I am disappointed in my finish as I truly believe we could have won the race, but this year continues to be a learning experience that will make us better each race moving forward. I want to also thank my car owner, Martin Nesbitt and my crew for a fantastic season. We had a competitive truck each and every race. If you take away the bad luck that comes with racing, the point’s battle could have easily turned out in our favor.”
” He went on to thank his main financial sponsors of ProSoap and AM Technical Solutions as well as his many other sponsors K1RaceGear, Dallas Karting Complex, Comet Cleaners, and Real Sports Websites. “I cannot thank ProSoap and AM Technical Solutions enough for their continued support in 2014, and we look forward to the final race of the year at Myrtle Beach.”
Tonya McCallister, Glasson’s agent, states “Cole has turned a lot of heads this season competing in the top 5 almost every race and racing against veteran drivers. We are excited about Myrtle Beach and the 2015 season.”
