Dominion Raceway officials released the 2018 season schedule for the oval track today including 24 Late Model Stock Car races.
The bulk of the schedule is made up of 75-lap single race days and twin 40 or twin 50-lap races for the Late Model Stock Cars. The first of which takes place on Saturday April 7th with a 75-lap feature on 4 new American Racer tires. The second date on the season will be the following week on April 14th with twin 40-lap events.
Unlike last years schedule there are some noted breaks for Late Model Stock Car racers and all divisions as almost every third week is an off week. The two back to back weeks also typically alternate between single and twin events. Additionally Late Model Stock Car teams will be able to save money as the track will use a 2-tire program for many of the seasons events.
Two big events will once again headline the schedule with the first coming on Thursday September 20th. This past season it was a $10,000 to win Late Model Stock Car feature leading into the Richmond NASCAR Monster Energy Cup Series weekend. The race will once again be 150-laps but no further details have been released yet on payout and etc.
The second big event for the Late Model Stock Cars will take place on Saturday October 6th with “The Big One” featuring a 150-lap race. And the season will be completed once again with the First Time Winners event for Late Model Stock Cars on October 20th.
