Mother Nature did not cooperate with the first attempt to crank up the 2015 NASCAR Whelen All American Series racing season last weekend at South Boston Speedway; however, things are looking good for season-opening action this weekend.
The advanced forecast from the National Weather Service is calling for mostly sunny skies and highs in the 60s on Saturday, March 21 when America’s Hometown Track will open its 2015 campaign with the running of the Danville Toyota NASCAR Twin Late Model 100 racing program.
The season-opening event will feature an afternoon starting time of 2 p.m. and any tickets purchased for last weekend’s rain out program will be honored at theSaturday, March 21 event.
Highlighting the seven races scheduled on Saturday will be a pair of 100-lap races for the drivers in the NASCAR Whelen All American Late Model Stock Car Division.
Also featured Saturday will be twin events for the Limited Sportsman Division competitors. Other races planned Saturday include battles for the Budweiser Pure Stock Division, the Hornets Division and the Modified Division.
Registration and pit gates will open Saturday at 9 a.m. with practice for all division scheduled from 10:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. Grandstand gates will open atnoon and qualifying time trials will get cranked up at 12:30 p.m.
Adult admission is $10. Children, ages six and under, will be admitted free with an adult.
