PENSACOLA, FL :: PASS South regular Spencer Davis will start 24th in Sunday’s running of the 46th Annual Snowball Derby.  Davis, who finished second in PASS South points, was locked in to the field by virtue of his 16.510 second lap and was able to spend Saturday preparing for the biggest race in Super Late Model racing.

“We’ve got a good car for both the Snowball and Snowflake so today was just a practice day for race runs,” Davis stated.  “The track’s going to be different tomorrow with the heat change.”

Davis is also competing in Saturday night’s Snowflake 100 where he qualified 26th.

“We’ve got a good Pro Late Model car,” Davis stated.  “We got stuck on the outside on our qualifying run.  We were only two tenths off.  I think we’ve got a car to contend in both races if we can stay out of trouble.”

Davis feels the versatility of the PASS South tour has helped him develop as a driver and plays to his advantage in Sunday’s race since tire wear will be a factor.

“The PASS tour helps because it’s Super Late Models and the tires wear so bad and this is a tire wearing track and that’s going to come in to play tomorrow,” Davis explained.  “This place used to be as bad as Hickory but they’ve re-grounded the stuff and made it better but it’s still going to be a key factor.”

Locked in to both races, Davis is hoping to make a statement in Pensacola and cap off a season that’s seen him visit Victory Lane in the PASS Pro Late Model tour and score five top-10 finishes in the PASS South tour.
