Cole Timm, who has been a regular in the southern Super Late Model tour in the Pro All Stars Series (PASS), has withdrawn from competing in future PASS events after events at Dillon Motor Speedway.
Timm was involved in an incident with Tate Fogleman, son of former series champion Jay Fogleman, during last Saturday’s season opening South Carolina Clash 150. Following the incident with Fogleman, Timm was penalized for aggressive driving and for speeding on pit road.
On Friday night, Timm posted on Instagram that he would not race anymore in PASS.
“They told me to wait at my trailer till the show was over Saturday night and I waited there for an hour and nobody showed up,” Timm told RACE22.com. Tom is a hot head. They said they were coming to talk to me and nobody did. Tate and I got together and he spun wasn’t my fault and I got sent to the rear. I wanted to talk to them about it and nobody showed up.”
Timm’s car is owned by Mike Smith, who also owned the Pro Late Model of Chandler Smith who was also fined for not meeting proper frame height. Smith also spoke out publicly, via Facebook.
PASS released a statement responding to Smith and Timm’s public statements regarding their departure from PASS.
Following the recent PASS event at Dillon Motor Speedway, #26 PASS Pro Late Model and #57 PASS Super Late Model were penalized for infractions in the event. The #26 Pro Late Model was fined for not meeting the frame height rule and was told that the next time it would result in a disqualification. The #57 PASS Super Late Model was penalized on track for intentionally wrecking another competitor and fined for excessive speed under caution which endangered safety workers.
Following the event, the #57 PASS Super Late Model asked for their entry back for the next event at Anderson Motor Speedway. It states on the entry form that there will be no refunds for pre-entered events. The reason being, we use names and images to promote upcoming PASS events. However, since the entries for both the #26 and #57 were paid by the owner of the #26, the entries were returned for both teams and both teams were also informed to not pre-enter and just enter at the future events they wished to participate.
Following this, the owner of the #26 informed PASS that they might need to “race elsewhere.” PASS subsequently agreed that it was best for all parties involved to oblige this request.
Timm says he will compete in the ARCA-CRA Super Series, Championship Auto Racing Series (CARS) and in the Southern Super Series from now on.
