Carteret County Speedway will host the region’s richest Limited Late Model race on Saturday, July 7th.
The Solid Rock Carriers 150 at Carteret County Speedway will pay $15,000-to-win when it commences on July 7th, making it the richest Limited Late Model race in the Southeast region. The race will be run out of the Southeast Limited Late Model Series rulebook, which is the primary set of rules at the track.
“We wanted to put on a big race for Limited Late Models and this is the perfect chance to do so,” Carteret County Speedway track owner Bobby Watson said. “We want this to be the biggest Limited Late Model race anywhere. I think the racers will love the track, it’s the most beautiful track anywhere, and we want to put on a big show for them and the fans.”
Solid Rock Carriers, which was the title sponsor of the Thanksgiving Classic at Southern National Motorsports Park last fall, will be the title sponsor of the Solid Rock Carriers 150.
“I’m looking forward to it,” Solid Rock Carriers owner Kirk Ipock said. “Carteret County is a fine facility and friendly atmosphere and good racing. Very impressed with the track, and the people who work there. I really like being associated with it. I’m looking forward to it.”
Watson will also incentivize racers who compete at Carteret County Speedway on a regular basis. Drivers who compete in three Carteret County Speedway Late Model races this season, leading into the Solid Rock Carriers 150, will get two free tires for the race.
The Solid Rock Carriers 150 will have an intermission period at or near halfway where teams will be able to change two tires and make adjustments to their cars, allowing them to race hard for the win in the second half of the race. Additionally, the race will be run on the Hoosier F50 tire, which received positive feedback from racers after the season opener.
More information about the Solid Rock Carriers 150 will be announced in the days and weeks ahead.
