Paul Williamson has been close to victory lane before, but he had never won.  That was until Saturday night when he scored the victory in the second of two races at Southern National Motorsports Park.

Williamson was fast all weekend long, qualifying on the pole finishing third in the first of two races, which was won by Andrew Grady.  In the second race, Williamson was able to race to the lead and hold back Grady to score the victory – the first of his career.

“I’m really excited that we could finally get the win that we’ve been looking for,” Williamson told Race22.com.  “Saturday was an interesting day to say the least.  We went from average to fast and took the pole.  From there, I knew we had a really good chance at finally getting a win.”

Three days later, Williamson is still relishing in the moment.

“It felt great to get my sponsors in victory lane and give them the promotion they deserve,” Williamson explained.  “The field of Limiteds this season has been pretty stout, just as I predicted it would be at the beginning of the season, and Saturday most definitely proved that.  There was some tight and competitive racing without a doubt.  I just can’t thank my team enough for all they do to make this happen.”

Williamson has been a threat to win in the past at Southern National Motorsports Park.  Now that he has scored his first win, he’s hoping he can get some more in the Limited Late Model division at Southern National.  The Limited Late Models will once again be in action at Southern National on Saturday, May 5th for twin 40-lap features.
