LUCAMA, NC :: Bradley McCaskill is hoping to channel his cousin’s success at Southern National Motorsports Park this weekend when he takes his Super Late Model out in the PASS South race.  Bradley will do double duty at the race, competing in both the Super Late Model and Pro Late Model races.

“We’ve run Super Late Models on and off since 2007,” McCaskill said.  “We’ve probably run nine or ten races a year.  We haven’t run any races in a while and this is the first year.  I feel pretty good about this weekend.  We ran really well at the Thanksgiving Classic last year so we’re excited to go back.  We haven’t done a whole lot to the car.   We’re taking both the Super Late Model and Limited Late Model.  We’ve got a Limited car to run this year.  We’ve run three races so far and I like the Limited car.”

McCaskill hopes to win a PASS South race this season.

“We haven’t won a PASS race and that’s our goal.  I feel like, if we can keep the car together for 150 laps, we’ll be a threat at the end.    We’ve never run double duty either so that should make it interesting.  The track changes from day to night so I don’t see running both races playing a big advantage but I don’t see it hurting us either – it’ll just be more work for our crew guys.”

McCaskill says the competition in the PASS South tour is top notch and it will be tough to win a race but he’s hoping to break through.  He hopes to lean on his cousin, reigning track champion Deac McCaskill, for advice.

“I know those guys have been tough this year but we’ve had the same car for a while and we’ve got a good handle on our car and I feel like we could keep up with them and do some damage.  The PASS field is strong this year.  My whole family’s raced as long as I can remember.  I just fell in to a seat.  My cousin Deac races, my dad raced.  That’s what I always wanted to do growing up and what I did growing up.  Deac helps us out a lot when it comes to getting around the track.  There’s just not a lot you can take from the Late Models to the Straight Rails.”

Bradley McCaskill thinks the PASS race will be a show the fans will enjoy.

“I think the Super Late Models will put on a hell of a show.  You can run two-wide and get grip and get some horsepower on the straightaways and through high banked turns.  It should be exciting for sure.”

McCaskill is supported by Atlantic Resources, Grafix Unlimited, Grainger Commercial Grating and Boyce McCaskill Auto Service.  He will compete in both the PASS Super Late Model and Pro Late Model races at Southern National Motorsports Park on Saturday, April 13th.
