RANDLEMAN, NC :: Ryan Wilson finished in second place for the second time in the 2013 season at Caraway Speedway on Saturday night.  Wilson qualified second but drew the top spot in qualifying and led the first 12 laps before falling to second.

“It was a pretty uneventful race,” said Wilson.  “Most important thing is that we brought it home in one piece.  We were nearly a full straightaway ahead of the third place car before a caution came out and bunched the field back up.  From there, we just raced hard with a couple other guys.”

Wilson’s second place finish propelled him to second place in points where he currently sits four points outside the points lead in the Caraway Speedway championship standings.

“Obviously, we want to win races,” explained Wilson.  “We come to win races, not to finish second.  But we also have to look at the big picture and do what we need to do for the track championship.  We’ve had solid, consistent runs all season long and, with runs like this, it’s only a matter of time before we start knocking wins off.

“These guys worked hard all week.  Obviously last week was disappointing but it was nice to bounce back and finish second.  More importantly, everyone raced us clean and we brought the car home without any damage.”

Ryan Wilson’s next race will be on Saturday, April 20th at Caraway Speedway.
