The racing community is like an extended racing family and the looming threat from Hurricane Florence has provided a great example of that.
Lee McCall has opened up his Hawk McCall Motorsports shop to other teams to store their cars during Hurricane Florence. In a Facebook post which he announced his offer, Roger Johnson of Performancenter Racing Warehouse made the same offer racers.
“Prayers for everyone on the coast,” McCall said in a Facebook post. “If any and all of my racing friends need a place to keep their cars. My shop is open for everyone.”
“If they fill yours we will put them in mine,” Johnson replied.
Hurricane Florence is currently a category three hurricane which is expected to bring widespread devastation to the coastal areas of South Carolina and North Carolina. Myrtle Beach Speedway, Coastal Plains Raceway Park and Carteret County Speedway are all expected to receive the maximum impacts of Florence’s fury.
