Christian Eckes set the pace in the first practice for the final race of the CARS Super Late Model Tour with a 14.750 second lap, leading previous series winners Christopher Bell (14.784) and Steve Wallace (14.797).
Bell is one of at least five drivers who will be running both the Late Model Stock Car and Super Late Model racing, chasing an elusive $40,000 bonus if one driver can win both races.
Lucas Ransone was fourth quickest in the practice session while Kyle Grissom, second in points entering Saturday night’s race, was fifth. Rounding out the top-10 were Riley Herbst, William Byron (who won the CARS Super Late Model race at Hickory in May), Zane Smith, Tyler Ankrum and Spencer Davis.
