While a championship is on the line for three drivers in Saturday’s CARS Late Model Stock Tour finale at Hickory Motor Speedway, Josh Berry is one of several drivers chasing a $40,000 bonus and he started off on the right note.
Berry, who won the track championship at Hickory Motor Speedway in 2014, was quickest in the first Late Model Stock Carp practice with a 15.284 second lap over Tyler Ankrum, who won last weekend’s Fall Brawl. Ankrum timed a 15.293. Spencer Davis was also in the top three with a 15.294 second lap. All three of the fast cars are running both the Late Model Stock Car race as well as the Super Late Model race. Winning both races would result in a $40,000 bonus.
Michael Fose, Christopher Bell, Clay Rogers, points leader Myatt Snider, Bobby Isaac Memorial winner Jake Crum, Bradley McCaskill and Deac McCaskill rounded out the 10 quickest drivers in Late Model Stock Car practice.
