PINEY FLATS, TN :: NASCAR Whelen All-American Series team, LMR Motorsports, based out of Piney Flats Tennessee announced today that they will be adding up and coming driver Cole Williams of Sellersburg Indiana to their team for the 2015 race season.
LMR will field a NASCAR Late Model Stock Carwith the 18 year old Williams at the wheel for special events at Motor Mile Speedway in Radford, VA. LMR Motorsports teamowners Bobby Hall and Bret Lyon are excited to be teaming up with Williams for several events on his off weekends from the Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway where he will once again be competing in his families own Pro Late-Model.
Cole is coming off of back to back successful seasons while racing throughout the Midwest. 2013 saw his family travel more than 6 hours weekly out west to Lebanon Missouri where he picked up the NASCAR WHELEN All-American Series Missouri State Championship, the Lebanon I-44 Speedway Pro Late-Model track championship, and was named the NASCAR State Rookie of the Year for Missouri. The family team would then head south in 2014, and again Cole would make the most of it. In his first year competing at the prestigious Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway where 30 car fields were the norm, he would pick up the Pro Late-Model track championship and Rookie of the Year honors.
The 2015 season Nashville weekends will still see Cole in his familiar Pro Late-Model, but when driving for LMR he will have veteran crew chief David Roope at LMR Motorsports to help him with the transition to the perimeter / truck-arm Late Model Stock style chassis. Roope will be preparing a new Hedgecock chassis with an AR Body and power from KowalskyRacing Engines for Williams to compete in.
While the LMR / Williams team will mainly concentrate onMotor Mile Speedway to get Cole accustom to the different type car, they would like to venture to some high profile LMSC races towards the end of the year at Hickory Motor Speedway and Martinsville Speedway.
