MOORESVILLE, NC (Jan. 25, 2012) – Racing has always been a family sport and the Charlotte Racers Expo is reinforcing that notion this weekend during its auction and trade show event. All ladies and children 12 and under are admitted free to the two-day event. Discount coupons of $5 (tickets are normally $10) are also available to other members of the family at various racing businesses around the region.

“We want to encourage families to explore the fun that racing can be without breaking the bank,” said Larry McDaniels of the Charlotte Racers Expo. “For a family of four, they could come to the event for as little as $5 a day. Combine that with the money they’ll be saving on parts and equipment and it can be a very profitable weekend for many racing families across the region.”

Family activities will also be plentiful around the event. A number of shopping malls, family-friendly entertainment and restaurants are all just minutes from the Charlotte Racers Expo, held at the Metrolina Tradeshow Expo (formerly the Metrolina Fairgrounds) in Charlotte.

“We’ve worked hard to make sure this is a weekend that families can spend together and have a little bit of everything for the family to do,” continued McDaniels. “Victory Lane Indoor Karting is about 2 exits away, Northlake Mall is just a mile or two up the road, and of course all the NASCAR-themed attractions are here, too. In other words, don’t be afraid to bring the family this weekend.”

Although the event is indoors, the weathermen are looking favorably upon the Charlotte Racers Expo. Highs are forecast to be in the 60s this weekend with a minimal chance of rain during the event, perfect weather for attendees to make multiple trips to their vehicles with armfuls of new and pre-owned parts and equipment.

“We have over 1000 lots in the auction and over 70 exhibitors that will be selling new items at the trade show,” said McDaniels. “If a racers can’t find something they can use at our event, they must not need much. We have stuff for asphalt and dirt, a complete assortment of everything including motor parts, suspension components, seats, wheels, safety equipment, tools, and even the latest in electronic gadgets and accessories like the GoPro cameras that a lot of racers have begun to use.”

The Charlotte Racers Expo will open its doors at 2pm on Friday and run until 8pm that night. A special Charlotte Racers Expo concert starts at 9pm on Friday night at nearby Puckett’s Farm Equipment in Charlotte. On Saturday, the event is open from 9am to 7pm with a special marketing and sponsorship seminar at 6:30 that night.

Tickets are only $10 for the event with ladies and children under 12 admitted free. For more information on the Charlotte Racers Expo, including locations to pick up $5 admission coupons, visit CharlotteRacersExpo.com.
