MARTINSVILLE, VA – Ty Gibbs was fastest in practice at Martinsville Speedway on Friday night, making an early statement before the field is set.
Gibbs recorded a 20.121 second lap around the .526-mile oval in Virginia. This is the second year Gibbs has attempt to make the field for the ValleyStar Credit Union 300. Last year, despite having a fast car, he failed to transfer in.
Ryan Repko and Todd Gilliland were second and third fastest. Peyton Sellers and Philip Morris rounded out the top-five. Other notables: Josh Berry was sixth quickest, Bobby McCarty was 11th, Tommy Lemons, Jr. 14th, Lee Pulliam 17th and Bubba Pollard 41st.
