DILLON, SC :: Austin Theriault only needed one lap to get the job done at the PASS South Series South Carolina Clash at the Dillon Motor Speedway. Theriault passed Preston Peltier for the race lead and win coming out of turn four to take the checkered flag.
A move that Peltier isn’t happy about, but Theriault doesn’t see that he did anything wrong. Coming out of turn four, Peltier looked to get by the lapped machine of John Hunter Nemechek when Theriault made the winning move and scored his first victory driving for NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Champion Brad Keselowski.
Kyle Grissom led the field to the green flag and would dominate most of the early laps of the event, but fell to the seventh position in the final rundown.
Kevin Powell would start 22nd and drive his Q104 Chevrolet to the third position in the final rundown.
The biggest accident of the night would come with 40 laps to go when RA Brown, Alex Flemming, Karl Webber and Bobby Measamer would all be collected in a huge pile up on the frontstretch. The red flag for several minutes as track crew worked to remove all cars involved.
We’ll have more on this race later in the week with post race interviews and photos.
