Raleigh, NC(December 24th, 2012) —  After 27 straight successful seasons, The Simpkins Family ,for the second time in the tracks 50 year history has decided to “hang up the helmet”, and lease Wake County Speedway. A multi-year agreement between the Simpkins and Adam Resnick has been inked.

Acting as President of Racing Operation, Resnick is promising to put The “NEW” Wake County Speedway back on top. He has hired as Promoter and General Manager, Charlie Hansen. Hansen will handle the day to day operations of the business. He is no stranger to the local racing scene. Coming off a great year as GM at Southern National Motorsports Park in 2012, he has proven himself as being able to bring Professionalism, Fairness, and Integrity to the track!

Adam is committed to Charlie the resources necessary to make The “NEW Wake County Speedway” the best Friday Night track on the east coast. There will be several new projects going on in the short off season. There are plans for a new Tech Shed, Lighting Improvements, repair and reseal the track surface, sound system improvements, bleacher and sign repair just to name a few.

The 2013 schedule is still being fine tuned, but at this time there are 19 weeks of racing on tap. The 2013 season will kick off Friday April 5, 2013 and conclude Friday September 6, 2013.

The “Featured” division will be the Nascar/ASA type Late Models running scuff tires and 350cfm carburetors. The track will also run the Street Stocks, Mini-Modifies, U-Cars, Modified 4cylinders, and Legends. The track is also looking to add some shows for the Super Late Models, Southern Ground Pounders, Flat Head Fords, Allison Legacy Series, and Bandolero’s.

The “NEW” Wake County Speedway is looking forward to lots of the support from Car Owners, Drivers, Fans, Sponsor’s and Advertisers.
