Altamahaw, NC(April 19, 2009) — Speedy Faucette is starting to become a master of Ace Speedway. Faucette won his 28th NASCAR Late Model Stock Car race at the 4/10ths of a mile bullring on Friday April 17th since the beginning of the 2007 racing season.

Faucette qualified on the pole with a 15.91 second lap. Dustin Rumley, Robert Turner, Brad Kurth and Ryan Wilson rounded out the top five qualifiers in the 14-car field.

Speedy brought the field to the green flag to begin the race. Green flag racing was short lived as Kevin Parker and Anthony Burr tangled in turn one on lap one.

Once racing resumed Rumley put pressure on Faucette with Turner hot on their heels. While the racing was hot and heavy up front, Rodney Cook was putting on his usual charge to the front.

Turner made his way past Rumley at lap 30 and it was his turn to put heavy pressure on Faucette. The racing up front and through the field was very entertaining.

Cook made his way past Turner and was poised to make a run at Faucette. A restart on lap 54 would end Cook’s night as he missed a shift and retired for the evening with a broken transmission.

2008 Limited Sportsman champ John Moore was having a great run into the top five in only his second career start in the LMSC division.

Turner made his way past Faucette for the lead on lap 61 after a restart because of Rumley’s flat tire brought out the caution. Faucette got back up on the wheel and battled Turner side-by-side for five laps before Speedy took the lead for good and won by a mere car length.

Faucette, Turner, Payne, Moore and Ryan Wilson completed the top five finishers in the 75-lap feature.  Wilson came back from getting spun and hitting the wall early in the race to finish fifth, a pretty impressive run for the young driver, who competes two nights a week at Ace and Caraway Speedway.
