SOUTH BOSTON, VA. — The 2012 racing season is now a memory, but have no fear, plans are already in place for another exciting season of racing at America’s Hometown Track in 2013.

South Boston Speedway officials released their 2013 NASCAR Whelen All American Series schedule today and it includes 18-action packed events, beginning with the Danville Toyota NASCAR Whelen Late Model Twin 100’s racing program on Saturday, March 9.

That season-opening event, which will have an afternoon start, will also feature action for the Limited Sportsman and the Pure Stock Divisions. The first three NASCAR Whelen All American Series events of the 2013 campaign will feature afternoon starts.

In addition to NASCAR Whelen All American Series events for the Late Model Stock Car Division, Limited Sportsman Division and Pure Stock Division, a host of special events are, once again, planned at America’s Hometown Track in 2013.

South Boston Speedway will host the touring PASS Super Late Model Series for three events in 2013. Those events are scheduled on May 11, June 8, and Aug. 17. All three of those events will also feature twin races for the competitors in the NASCAR Whelen All American Late Model Stock Car Division.

The annual 200-lap NASCAR Whelen Late Model Stock Car race and the annual Fireworks Extravaganza will be held on July 3. That event will also feature a 100-lap race for the Limited Sportsman Division and a 50-lap race for the Pure Stock Division.

The NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour will visit the historic four-tenths mile asphalt oval on Saturday, April 13. That event will also feature twin races for the NASCAR Whelen All American Late Model Stock Car Division.

South Boston Speedway officials also announced plans to have a return visit of the popular Monster Truck Show in 2013. That event, which will feature fireworks, is slated for Sept. 21. It is included on the schedule in addition to the 17 racing events next year.
