Points leader Luke Sorrow leads the Southeast Limited Late Model Series into his home track of Greenville-Pickens Speedway in Easley, South Carolina this Saturday, April 23rd.

The series joins the Southeast Super Truck Series and the track’s renegades and four cylinder classes, making for a special night of racing for the fans.

Sorrow, a rookie in his first full season of limited late model series competition, leads the points in both the Pro and Daytona1 Challenger divisions after sweeping the two features at Anderson Motor Speedway last month and winning the Gale Force Suspension Pro Division Pole Award as well.

He also has two wins in NASCAR Whelen All American Series weekly competition at Greenville-Pickens this year.

Asked about his early season success, the easygoing youngster said, “I’ve had a lot of seat time this year, which has helped me to get better. And, my brother Justin has become awesome at setups. I’m thankful to my family and to my sponsors for supporting me. I’m excited just to be able to race like we are and I’m looking forward to the Southeast Limited races this weekend.”

Sorrow’s arch-nemesis at Greenville-Pickens, Colby “The Kid” Howard, just scored a nearly 13-second victory in the limited late model 75-lap main this past Saturday at the half-mile.

Howard chased Sorrow right to the finish line in both Southeast races at Anderson last month and is second in Challenger points as well.

New Englander Anthony Alfredo in the Falk Racing No. 5, Hayden Humphrey in his No. 07, Blair Addis, Richard Petty’s grandson Thad Moffitt in the No. 46, Dylan Hall in his No. 4, Anthony Miller in the No. 56, Amber Lynn in the deuce along with Greenville-Pickens limited regulars Phillip Peters, Andrew Cordell, Daniel Alvarez and many more are expected to compete on Saturday.

The Pro division will compete for 100 laps, while the Daytona1 Challenger division will have a 50-lap main event.

“Our whole staff is excited about Saturday’s race,” Series Owner Ed Cox said. “Greenville-Pickens is a fast track and it’s a challenge because you have to take care of your car and your tires. It’s nice to have people talking positively about what we’re doing and the weather is supposed to be fantastic so we are looking forward to a strong turnout of cars and some close racing. Anthony (Anders) has done a nice job with the track and with our series. We’re all ready to put on a show for the fans this weekend!”
