The Fourth Annual Rodney Cook Classic race will take place on Saturday October 7th at Ace Speedway. The race honoring the life of the late Rodney Cook will pay $10,000 to the winner of the Late Model Stock Car race and feature twin Tour Type Modified races paying $2,000 to win each.
Ace Speedway released the rules for the Late Model Stock Car race which will feature the following engine, carburetor and weight combinations:
• Chevrolet Built (Steel Head) Engine with 500cfm Ultra Carburetor & 1″ Spacer must weigh 3075lbs overall with 1375lbs on right side.
• Chevrolet Spec (Aluminum Head) Engine with 500cfm Ultra Carburetor & 1″ Spacer must weigh 3100lbs overall with 1400lbs on right side. *Track Supplied Restrictor Plate Also Required*
• Ford 347SR Engine with 650cfm Carburetor & 1″ Spacer must weigh 3100lbs overall with 1400lbs on right side.
• Chevrolet 604 Crate Engine with 650cfm Carburetor & 1″ Spacer must weigh 3050lbs overall with 1350lbs on right side.
Additionally track management released the weekend schedule for October 6-7th:
Friday, October 6th
• Pit Gates Open: 8am (Sign in, Practice Tires, Race Tires Mounted)
• Practice: 9am – 12noon
– Order: LMSC, Modifieds, 602 Limiteds, SGP, Mini Stock
• Lunch Break: 12:00 – 12:30pm
• Afternoon Practice: 12:30 – 5:00pm
• LMSC & Modified Early Tech Inspection 5:30pm
Saturday, October 7th
• Pit Gates Open: 8am (Sign in, Tire Building Opens)
• LMSC & Modified Tech Inspection 8:30am until completed.
• Practice: 11:00am – 1:00pm
• Grandstands Open: 1:00pm
• Driver’s Meeting: 1:15pm
• Qualifying 2:00pm

– LMSC 2-laps
• Pre-Race Activities 3:45pm (Awards, Invocation, National Anthem)
• Racing Begins: 4:00pm
– Modifieds 50-laps (Impound on pit road, not in stalls)
