South Boston, VA(March 9, 2012) — Robertson Motorsports announced this week the renewal of their relationship with Sheetz, the Pennsylvania-based convenience store chain made famous for their Made•to•Order ® food. This marks the team’s third season of involvement with Sheetz, which will begin at South Boston Speedway in the NASCAR Whelen Late Model 300 race this weekend.
Saturday’s race will be one of the biggest races of the season at the storied 4/10 mile track, well-known for its high speeds that approach 100mph. Robertson will have notable company, including two past Whelen All American Series National Champions.
But Robertson and the #31 Sheetz Chevrolet are used to their own notoriety. The 25-year old competed last year at both Martinsville and Richmond among some of the top drivers in the country, including some NASCAR Sprint Cup notables, finishing top 20 in both races. Robertson notched two wins in his other nine starts last year, one coming at Ace Speedway and the other at Bowman Gray Stadium.
“We’re excited about getting the season cranking this year with Sheetz again,” stated Robertson while at a pre-race driver’s appearance today at the SoBo Sheetz. “It’s an amazing group of people, and we’re proud to be a part of their plans again this year. Plus, we get to stop at Sheetz when we’re on the road and grab a bite to eat, which is always a plus.”
Robertson’s plans with the Sheetz Chevrolet this year include repeat performances at RIR in the Denny Hamlin Short Track Showdown again, Bowman Gray Stadium, Ace Speedway, and other select venues in North Carolina and Virginia.
