RIDGEWAY, VA :: Bryan Reedy has accomplished a feat the last two years that some drivers never do. He has made the field at Martinsville Speedway for the biggest Late Model Stock Car race of the year.
To make the feat even bigger, to date it is still the only two starts he has made in the ultra-competitive NASCAR Whelen All-American Series Late Model Stock Car division.
Reedy, a third generation driver from Daleville, VA, will be making his third attempt in as many years to make the prestigious MDCU 300 at the famed .526 mile oval on October 5th.
The Reedy Racing team practiced on Wednesday September 24th and was very pleased with the results, although half of their day was washed out by Mother Nature.
“We did not get as much practice as we wanted on Wednesday,” exclaimed Bryan. “Our team members had work obligations for the rescheduled Thursday practice. It hurts us a little but we feel we learned enough in our abbreviated practice on Wednesday to know what to do to make the car better for race weekend.
“It is always a huge deal to make this race. The crew loves the feeling of making the race and we love to promote all of our sponsors to such a huge race day crowd. There is a big benefit when you are sponsor hunting for the next season when you can say; hey our team has qualified for the biggest race in the region for this division for two straight years.”
One thing is for sure, Reedy and his team, with very limited experience in the LMSC division, will be one to keep an eye on in qualifying on Saturday and the heat races on Sunday.
