Chase Purdy picked up his sixth and seventh victories of the season at Greenville-Pickens Speedway as he swept the Twin 75’s on Saturday night. Purdy led over 110 laps out of the 150 completed and took home a $4,000 pay day for his victories in both 75 lap features.

The starting lineup for race one was set by the first lap of qualifying, so two time track champion David Roberts brought the field to the green flag with Georgia’s Cody Haskins to his outside. Purdy started in third alongside former NASCAR Camping World Truck Series driver and two time ARCA race winner, Chad McCumbee.

Purdy wasted little time putting his Bama Buggies/Polaris Ford in the top spot as he passed Roberts on lap two. McCumbee followed through for second and the Mississippi teen held off the veteran racer the rest of the way to claim his sixth victory of the season in dominant fashion.

McCumbee held on to finish second ahead of Trey Gibson, Dylan Hall and Jeremy Burns, who made his first start of the season at his home track.

The starting grid for race two was set by the second lap of qualifying which put Purdy on the point with McCumbee to his outside.

Jeremy Burns started third with David Roberts in fourth. At the drop of the green flag Chad McCumbee powered his way past Purdy on the outside in turn one to take the top spot. In turn three, Jeremy Burns raced his way past Purdy dropping the Mississippi youngster back to third spot. On lap twenty, Purdy got by Burns for second and set his sights on race leader McCumbee.

One lap later, Trey Gibson was able to race past Jeremy Burns for third.

On lap thirty five, Two time Greenville-Pickens Speedway track champion David Roberts made his way into the pits and retired from the race with a mechanical problem on his Ford, joining a long list of competitors already in the pits with mechanical issues that included Will Burns, Tasha Kummer, and Three time Greenville-Pickens Speedway track champion, Randy Porter.

On lap thirty six, Chase Purdy was able to track down Chad McCumbee and pass him to take the lead. Three laps later Trey Gibson got past McCumbee for second while Dylan Hall passed Jeremy Burns for fourth.

Hall would get past McCumbee for third on lap fifty three, but would only be able to get within a few car lengths of Trey Gibson as the Simpsonville driver would have to settle for third.

After taking the lead just prior to the halfway point of race two, Purdy was able to collect his seventh victory of the season and sweep the Twin 75’s at the historic half mile.
