SOUTH BOSTON, VA :: Lee Pulliam and CE Falk were victorious in twin races at South Boston Speedway on Saturday. Pulliam passed Philip Morris late in the first twin race, after the two staged a classic duel, to win the race. Falk surprised both drivers and dominated the second 100 lap race.
After the first race, Morris and Pulliam both congratulated each other and praised each other for racing clean. Morris was satisfied with how the two raced each other and felt the show the two drivers put on was worth the price of admission. Pulliam also echoed Morris’ sentiments, saying it was a great way to get back on the right foot.
CE Falk passed Morris and then held off Pulliam to win the second race, a victory Falk felt satisfied about after an upset in the UNOH Battle at the Beach at Daytona in February. Falk said both drivers gave him plenty of room and raced him clean but he was hesitant to talk about national title contention.
Danny Willis, Jr. dominated the 50 lap Limited Late Model race, a race that started with 17 cars and only finished with eight running at the end. Multiple crashes swept up multiple drivers. Rookie driver Libby Privette was swept up in an opening lap crash, effectively ending a rough day for her. At the end of the race, Willis had trouble getting up to speed which stacked the field up, causing a hug crash in turn one.
Willis, who led every lap, held off Joey Throckmorton, Garrett Bunch, Daniel Moss and Mark Simpson to win that race.
