MYRTLE BEACH, SC :: Myrtle Beach Speedway’s most prestigious race started out as a stop in the NASCAR Slim Jim All Pro Series. It has since evolved in to one of Late Model Stock Car racing’s crowned jewel events.
The first Myrtle Beach 400 was won by Chatsworth, Georgia’s Jody Ridley, a six-time All Pro Champion, a former Snowball Derby winner and a former winner in the NASCAR Winston Cup Series. Since then, Late Model racing greats, such as Gary St. Amant, Jay Fogleman, Scott Riggs, Timothy Peters, Frank Deniy, Jr. and Lee Pulliam, among others, have all scored wins in the Myrtle Beach 400.
