There will be no short track as entertaining this Saturday than East Carolina Motor Speedway, as racing action returns highlighted by twin Late Model Stock races and fireworks.

“It’s going to be a big night,” track promoter John Vick told RACE22.com. “We are running twin Late Models with $1200 to win each race.”

In the track’s points, Brenden Queen and Louis White are in a dead tie with 316 points a piece. Queen has picked up his first two career LMSC victories in Robersonville this season, while White is no stranger there either.

“It’s going to be a great night of racing,” Queen told RACE22.com. “It’s always wild. I hope we can put together some solid finishes and hopefully two wins.”

On Friday, the track’s Facebook page (www.facebook.com/EastCarolinaSpeedway) announced that there will be over twenty LMSC. This field will be headlined by NASCAR Whelen All-American Series Division I National Point Leader, Matt Bowling, who we interviewed after a full day of testing on Friday.

“We are going to be ok,” Bowling told RACE22.com. “We were just trying to make some gains on it so we can get two wins tomorrow. The competition is pretty stiff down here, we’ll just have to see. We’re going to give it our best shot, and that’s the best we can do.”

Bowling has only made two starts at East Carolina this season after finishing third in the Ronnie Barnette Memorial 200 lap feature back in December, but those two finishes (first and third) came just less than a month ago.

“We won one last time, so we definitely know where we need to be,” Bowling commented. “We also know where we missed it in the second race. I think we’ll be close; we just have to keep searching and get it the best that we can.”

Saturday’s program also includes a not too frequent visit from the Southern Ground Pounders series as well as the second running of the Langley Speedway Super Trucks. Also in the program are Bandoleros, UCARs, Street Stocks, Super Streets, and Bombers.
