CONCORD, NC :: Ryan Preece dominated Thursday night’s NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour event at the Charlotte Motor Speedway, but Burt Myers would be the victor following 150 laps around the quarter mile.

Preece would exit the event with just 15 laps left in the race with what appeared to be motor problems. This would give Burt Myers the lead and ultimately lead to Myer’s third victory of the season.

“It was a little unexpected there when the 41 (Preece) quit.” Said Myers following his victory.  “We where a little off from Ryan, but here we are.” Myers continued.

Kyle Ebersole would finish second to Myers.  Ebersole started third in the 150 lap event and never fell outside the top five during the running.

George Brunnhoelzl III would wrapped up his third consecutive Tour Championship with a third place finish on Thursday night. Brunnhoelzl became the first modified driver in both the Whelen Modified and Southern Modified tour to win three consecutive championships.

“It was an overall great night.” said Brunnhoelzl following his third place finish.  “Got up to fourth place and just tried to survive, track position is everything here.”

Longtime Southern Modified racer, Tim Brown would start second on the evening and bring home a fourth place finish.  Danny Bohn would finish the 150 lap event in the fifth position.
