For racers there really is no off season and that’s definitely been the case for Mini Tyrrell. Since the drop of the final checkered flag of the 2017 season when he picked up his first career Thanksgiving Classic victory, Mini has been busy working on his 2018 season and raising money with four time Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Champion Jeff Gordon.

Shortly after winning the Thanksgiving Classic at Southern National Motorsports Park, 13-year old Mini headed to Charlotte, NC to meet with his mentor Jeff Gordon for a Giving Tuesday appearance on FOX 46 to help raise money for Mini’s Mission and the Jeff Gordon Foundation. Mini has partnered with Gordon to raise money to help kids beat childhood cancer. Mini and his Mini’s Mission foundation have raised over $400,000 for the Jeff Gordon Foundation and has raised nearly $450,000 total to help fund childhood cancer research.

Mini and Gordon also met to discuss future fundraising ideas and their commitment to continuing to raise money for childhood cancer. Mini is excited about what they discussed and what it means for raising more money to help cure childhood cancer.

“Getting to meet with Jeff and getting to discuss plans for 2018 to continue our commitment to raising money for childhood cancer has me really excited,” said Mini. “We’re always looking for unique ways to raise money and working together side by side with him and the Jeff Gordon Foundation gives us a platform to continue to raise more money this next year.”

Mini has also been invited to continue his relationship with Racing Virginia and being a part of Team Racing Virginia. Racing Virginia will launch a podcast on January 25, 2018 and Mini will be a part of that throughout the 2018 season. Look for announcements in the near future about appearances at events scheduled to take place throughout the race season at Richmond Raceway.

Mini also is excited to announce that he’ll be continuing a long standing relationship with Castrol Edge and PPC Lubricants for the 2018 race season. PPC and Castrol have been supporting Mini in racing since 2013.

“It’s really exciting to be able to continue our partnership with Castrol Edge and PPC Lubricants,” commented Mini. “They’ve been supporters of my racing since 2013 and it’s exciting to be able to carry them to each new level that we climb to on this journey as we plan to head to some new race tracks in 2018 and get their brand out to new people.”

Mini is still working on his schedule for the 2018 season and will announce it in the coming months as he and the team continue to work on new opportunities to continue to develop his skills on short tracks throughout the region.

Mini is supported by Castrol Edge, PPC Lubricants, Beautiful Bodies Auto Body Shop and Team Racing Virginia. For more information on Mini and the Timmy Tyrrell Racing team check out their website at www.TimmyTyrrellRacing.com/ or click “like” on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/MiniTyrrell/
