WENATCHEE, WA :: The best short track racers from across the Pacific Northwest and Western Canada will be making their way to Wenatchee Valley’s Super Oval (WVSO) this weekend for the final leg of the Pro All Stars Series (PASS) Northwest Triple Crown. The Wenatchee Valley 300 will see some of the best Super Late Model drivers in North America compete for 300 green flag laps this Saturday night in one of Central Washington’s richest events of the season. The race winner could potentially take home more than $10,000 for their efforts.
The Wenatchee Valley 300 will take its place in a line of prestigious short track events sanctioned by the PASS in 2013 which includes the Easter Bunny 150 at North Carolina’s Hickory Motor Speedway, the Autobus La Quebecoise Triple Crown at Quebec’s Autodrome Chaudiere, and the 40th running of the TD Bank 250 at Maine’s Oxford Plains Speedway, the richest and most famous short track event in motorsports. The Wenatchee Valley 300 will cap off an exciting trio of PASS Super Late Model races held at Wenatchee Valley’s Super Oval this year, the first two being won by Garrett Evans and Shane Mitchell.
While Evans and Mitchell will be back to stake their claim at the hefty winner’s purse, they will definitely not have a lack of hungry competitors standing between them and another checkered flag. Gary Lewis returns to WVSO this weekend hoping for redemption in a year that has seen its fair share of struggles. Ron Eaton has been fast in the first two rounds of the PASS Northwest Triple Crown, but has struggled in both races so far. Female racers Molly Helmuth and Nicole Behar along with Oregon’s Alan Kress and Idaho 200 winner Blake Williams are all expected this weekend. Several drivers from Washington State have also entered, many of whom have experience at WVSO, including Ricky Allen, Michael Knutson, Kelly Mann, Josh Roberts, and Todd Walters with many more drivers looking to cash in on what should be a very busy weekend of racing at WVSO. Competitors from all across the West Coast will come together to race for 300 laps in one of the Summer’s richest events.
