Wytheville, VA(February 17, 2010) — OK, Guys … I know it’s been a boring winter, I’m with you and while we’ve tried to do some stuff around here to pass the time … I know you’re still bored, because I am too.

Consider this the beginning of the end of your boredom … Corey Latham, Kimberly Smith, Mason Dunn, Chris Owens and myself, along with our contributors will be back this season to bring you the most comprehensive coverage of Late Model Stock Car racing in history. While some of us will be in somewhat different roles this season, I’m sure that we’ll be able to bring you the coverage that this level of racing from NASCAR Late Model Stock Cars to the UARA-STARS Series that had been lacking before RACE22.com was born.

Last spring the week before the Rockingham UARA-STARS Series race, I saw a Sprint commercial referring to tweets and while I was wondering “what the heck is a tweet”, little did I know that tweets would change the way RACE22.com covers racing. With twitter that first weekend we were able to keep you up to date on the key happenings in the Rockingham UARA race and from there we had a lot of people that wanted us to do twitter updates(or “tweet ups” as the NASCAR Sprint Cup media refers to them as), everywhere.

With the help of John Bowen and Corey Latham we were able to do twitter updates from a lot of the Friday night races at Tri-County and Ace Speedway, plus on Saturday nights at various tracks including nearly every race at Hickory Motor Speedway. We also had quick access to the nights activities at Langley Speedway most weeks through Heather Warren or Mason Dunn, who also brought us the latest from South Boston on a few occasions.

Turn the page to this past fall and our coverage again evolved with the use of a service called “CoverItLive”, which we used to not only bring you text updates, but to bring you near-live photos and interaction never before seen in short track race coverage. By the time we got to the end of the season, a lot of readers were contacting us about our coverage and how they wanted to see more of it in 2010 … I’m glad to tell you that in 2010 you’ll get much more of what you saw last year with twitter updates as well as more coveritlive sessions and some new stuff.

We hope you guys will enjoy the many new features that we’re planning to bring you this year including some new video features that we are going try, that will be the first of it’s kind in short track racing. We’re also hoping to rachet up the amount of coverage that we’re going to do this season with planned live coverage of some sort every weekend of the season starting with a potential triple header the first Saturday of racing season.

OK, so you want some of our plans for the season are here at RACE22.com, but this is the beginning of our countdown to the season getting underway on March 13th, so I’m sure you want to know what we’re going to be looking at heading into the new season.

RACE22.com will be working hard to give you as much info about the upcoming season as possible including a complete preview of who’s running where and what drivers from one track has plans to move to another. We’ll give you a complete a to z preview of the UARA-STARS Series including a look at the most impressive crop of rookies in any series anywhere. We’ll also take a look at what you might see this season everywhere from Motor Mile to Myrtle Beach and everything in between, to make sure you’re geared up for the upcoming season.

Needless to say, we’re going to do our best to let you know what to expect before you hit the tracks this season. Something else new you’ll see this season beginning on the first weekend of racing is coverage of the Limited Late Model divisions at tracks around the region including potential new series’ that may come to life this season. As we did last season with the PASS South Super Late Models and the Pro Late Models at Concord, we’ll also be bringing you as much coverage from the straight rail contingent as possible. We may have some hit and miss coverage of the Late Model Trucks competing around the region including Myrtle Beach, Hickory, Dillon, Caraway, Florence and more.

With our FaceBook page we invite you to post your questions, comments and concerns there and interact with other members as well as letting us know if there’s something we’re not covering that you’d like to see more of.

Over the next few days we’ll be adding new stories as we begin to preview the season ahead and give you expert analysis on who we think will be the big dogs all over the region. From the UARA-STARS Series to the NASCAR Late Model Stock Cars on tracks all around the region as well as some non-sanctioned racing as well, RACE22.com has you covered this year like never before!
