Downpours scattered throughout the day forced Bowman Gray Stadium management to postpone tonight’s event.
“Unfortunately, persistent rain storms have led to the postponement of tonight’s racing action. We hope you’ll join us next week for Modified Twin 50s and the Stadium Stock 50. The Chain Race scheduled for tonight will be moved two weeks later to June 22. See you next week!”
Tonight was the scheduled date for the Stadium Stock 50, it’s the longest and richest race of the year for the division. Previous race winners Jason Keaton, current track record holder Brandon Brendle and four time winner A.J. Sanders were slated to be there in attempt to qualify for the 26 car starting field.
The Brad’s Golf Cart Modifieds were scheduled to run 25 lap twin bill, the McDowell Heating & Air Sportsman cars same thing, but 20 laps. While Law Offices of John Barrow Street Stock with their usual 20 lap feature. Alongside all of that, there was supposed to be the second 109 U-Pull-It chain race of the year.
Bowman Gray will pick up next week June 15th with the Q104.1 Stadium Stocks running their longest race of the year. The always crazy and insane Twin 50’s for the Brad’s Golf Cart Modified Series, the McDowell Heating & Air Sportsman Series and Law Offices of John Barrow will run their usual twin 20 lap & 20 lap races respectively.
