ROUGEMONT, NC :: Craig Moore took advantage of a late race restart to score his second consecutive Late Model victory at Orange County Speedway on Saturday night. The race was the highlight of an eight race card for Military Night at the three-eighths mile asphalt oval.
Polesitter Moore watched outside front row starter Tripp Massengill lead at the outset. Massengill would lead the first 62 laps of the 75 lap event before a mandatory caution on lap 63. On the restart, Moore shot into the front and wasn’t headed again. He survived a later caution for debris to preserve the the win over a fast closing Massengill. Massengill pulled alongside of Moore as the duo approached the checkered flag, but came up short by about a car length. Terry Dease outdueled Chuck Lawson for third as the two beat and banged on each other in the closing laps. Thomas Scott rounded out the top five.
