Track PR Report

Myrtle Beach, SC(May 12, 2012) — NASCAR Racing stars greeted the fans at the speedway as a prelude to thr weekends “Southern 500”. Kyle Petty, Michael Waltrip, Denny Hamlin, Phil Parsons, Jason White, Hermie Sadler and others triedout the new “Skid Plate” class of front wheel drive cars. Four laps of showering sparks and all over the racetrack ill handling cars made for a hoot and a holler for the fans as Kyle Petty driving the the pace car watched the cars in his review mirror.

Kyle was still leading the veteran drivers around when the checkered flag flew on Jason White. All the driver had the same comment, it was loose, fun andwouldn’t go in a straightline. Most of the drivers continued after the checkers spinning the cars and continuing to shower sparks to the delight of the crowd.

The first of the twin forty lap Late Model races Rick Smith three time Late Model champion lead the field to the green. Jeremy McDowell in a Dodge went to first and held on to win the first feature event in2012, over a twenty seven car field. The second of the feature races saw an inversion on the pill draw and the top four were inverted, moving Jamey Lee to the pole and Rick Smith to the outside pole. Lastyears Champ Justin Milliken was inside the second row and Jeremy Mcdowell was on the outside of row two. Rick smith jumped to the lead as the green waved followed Anthony Anders and Jason White.

On lap three Mcdowell saw his repeat win of the night foiled when a mechanical ill sideline the potent Dodge. Justin Milliken fought his way around Anthony Anders on lap twenty-eight after touch Andersleft rear on the front straight. At the checkers it was Milliken, Smith, Anders, Jamey Lee and Jason White and Sam Yarbrough the top five.
