Newport, TN(December 10, 2012) – Big changes are in store for Newport Speedway for the 2013 season.
Longtime racer Marty Jenkins has signed a new lease for the Eastern Tennessee track and will take over the reins of promoting and overseeing day-to-day operations beginning immediately.
Marty understands that there is a lot of work to be done and hopes that by this time next year the improvements which he plans to do to the facility, both in its appearance and it’s program, will lift it to levels currently unseen in past years. He’s already gotten a start by beginning to talk with current and former racers about prices and rules for next year. Communication will be essential and Marty plans on greatly improving communication and PR between the track and its competitors, fans, and the communities they serve.
New and exciting things are coming for Newport Speedway; stay tuned for more announcements as they develop.
