BLOOMINGDALE, TN :: After a second place finish in last week’s race, Adam Long started from the pole and led every lap en route to his fourth career win at Kingsport Speedway.
Behind Long, there were several intense battles for position, the biggest of which was for second for most of the race as veterans Kres VanDyke and Zeke Shell traded paint. With Long, long gone up front and much of the field was spread out even with a couple cautions. VanDyke had his best run in the last two years with a chance to win several times restarting outside of Long.
Long however had other plans and shot away from VanDyke on every restart. VanDyke looked like a second place contender but, as the laps clicked off, VanDyke’s car faded with Shell grabbing a second place finish. It was Shell’s best effort of the season and hopefully a sign of things to come for a driver that has had a lot of bad luck. Behind Shell, another driver who has had a lot of misfortune was having a good night as well.
Lee Tissot drove his way to a third place finish ahead of VanDyke and pole winner Hayden Woods. After grabbing the pole and being inverted to fourth, Woods was never a factor and had to settle for fifth. First race winner Chad Finchum finished sixth with Daniel Pope, Tyler Goodwin and Paul Nogradi completing the top ten of the 20-car field.
